Calling all Elvis enthusiasts! Don't be cruel, share your vocal and performing talents with thousands of car junkies and Elvis fans at the Charlotte Motor Speedway AutoFair hosted by OldRide.com. The world's largest automotive extravaganza, April 3-6, will once again host a preliminary round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in conjunction with Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland.
The winner of this preliminary round will go on to compete against other semifinalists from around the world in the overall Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held during Elvis Week in Memphis, Tenn.
Tribute artists who participate in this three-day regional contest will be evaluated on their vocal talent, appearance, stage presence and overall performance. The contest performances will be held on the stage at the Showcase Pavilion.
Semifinals will take place Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, on the stage at the Showcase Pavilion, with finals featuring the top five contestants at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The winner of the regional contest will be named Charlotte Motor Speedway's Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist, plus earn a spot in the semifinals of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis during Elvis Week in August. In addition, they'll get a one-of-a-kind trophy, $2,500 in prize money, a $100 gift card for dinner in The Speedway Club and special performance on Saturday in The Speedway Club. Second place will receive $1,000 and third will take home $500; both second and third place will also receive a $100 gift card for The Speedway Club.
The deadline to register for the contest is March 21 at 5 p.m. EST. To register, visit www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/elvis/. Fans can gain admission to the contest by purchasing a ticket to the AutoFair. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 13 and under.
The Charlotte Motor Speedway AutoFair hosted by OldRide.com annually attracts more than 100,000 visitors, features nearly 50 car club displays and offers a surplus of automotive parts and memorabilia for sale or trade. There's also a collector car auction conducted by Dealer Auctions Inc. and more than 1,500 collectible vehicles of all makes and models will be available for sale in the car corral that rings the 1.5-mile superspeedway.
